It List: Wed. 3/29/06

What the hell did you think was gonna be on this list today anyway? Even though I probably don't need to tell you, a fully reunited Dinosaur Jr. will be playing the Gypsy Tea Room Ballroom tonight. We're really excited, as Dino was one of our favorite bands back in the diz. But we're also a little unsure of what to expect, seeing as how J Mascis is completely gray these days, not to mention the fact that Mascis and Lou Barlow pretty much NEVER got along at any point in the band's existence. How long can they stay together this time? Doors are at 7, but you can wait until after the first band is done (they suck) and show up for Dead Meadow around 830 or 9.

If you live in denton and/or aren't feeling the Dinosaur thing, you can go to the Party with Dj Nature at Rubber Gloves. Dentonites that are going to the show tonight will probably have more than enough time to stop by Rubber Gloves for a nightcap on the way home.

Man....I can't believe you guys are talking shit about Priestess. I went to see Early Man a few months back and ended up liking Priestess a whole lot more. Saw them again at SXSW right before The Datsuns. Love them. Their album is one of my favorites so far this year. I know I'm more of a rocker, but come on....

I for one will be there in plenty of time to see every bit of the Priestess set.

Priestess doesn't suck. Dead Meadow is great. And J Mascis' new band, Witch, with Kyle and Asa from Feathers needs to tour extensively. Thank you Tony from Tee Pee for making this shit happen!

Tony Presedo is a magic man. I love that dude. Thank god for his label. The witch singles are the best I've heard in ages. The Witch S/T rattled my cage and fucked really hard with my mind...it was so good. Giving credit where is due. Only wish I made the SXSW show...still sore about that.

Another option in Denton tonight is the Art Prostitute event at Hailey's. It's free, and Baptist Generals are playing at midnight. Record Hop plays at 11, but it's not the whole band. It's just me and the singer, Ashley, doing a loud quiet set. Yeah, I don't know what that means, either. Our buddy Nick Forman opens it up at 10.

Baptist Generals ended up playing in the street next to the Dumpster. Cops came by and just kept going. Greatness.
