We have Cool Out tonight @ The Cavern, of course, and Jazz @ Amsterdam, of course, and Bill's Records will be hosting a record release/listening party for Erykah Badu, who will make an appearance at the store to sign CDs and whatever else starting at midnight. I honestly don't think I've listened to an Erykah Badu song since like 1997 or something, but come on everyone: she's from Dallas! Erykah Badu is from Dallas guys! See, our town isn't irrelevant, check it out, she's ours! Snooze. I do remember liking her hats and her hair and stuff though, and I bet the party will be decent too. Still haven't been to the new Bills yet...We'll have Melodica related stuff for you some time very soon.

I'm so glad I live in THE town that badu hit big in. oh also, I love it when all the papers keep me updated on all the new badu news in the local music section cause I bet you thought she was too much of a superstar to be in the little local section, but guess what? its music.... and its local! shes ours! bill charged me a lot for a record that he said was an import because it had a made in canada sticker on it. just cause it was made in another country doesnt mean it was released in that country and is an import. i still feel a little ripped off but damn i love that record.

The funniest part about it is the fact that all of these insecure hipster fucks are so predictable. For example, someone says something and the feel the need to retort with some sort of sarcastic remark, because "they go to college" therefore "they are liberal and open minded" and they think they are special in some way. Also, they always try to make pretentious analogies about everything so that the other person thinks they are smart or well versed. I don't claim to be anything, I hate nobody, I am kind hearted but the biggest difference between me and them is I will tell you when you are stepping on my toes.
