It List: Thurday 6/1/06
1. Notes From Underground/Mom/ Chief Death Rage (Rubber Gloves): This should be a fan fuckin' tastic show. We're already fans of Notes (drone, noise) and Chief (stoner, punk, Sabbath), but we just heard Mom for the first time today and really enjoyed it. Their music is dreamy and experimental and tape loopy and kind of hard to describe, so go listen. A good collection of some of the better bands in the area right now.
2. Silk Stocking/Country Teasers/ Gorch Fock / White Drugs(The Cavern): Silk Stocking is creepy and bluesy minimalism done pretty damn well. Never heard Teasers, and Gorch Fock is some kind of loud creation that reminds me of a way cooler and harder Janes Addiction with horns slash a less dumb version of GWAR. I bet they put on a good show, so get there early foolios. We were reminded that White Drugs is playing this show too, and as we've said before, they rule. Get there even earlier.

The Country teasers kind of similar to The Fall's older material, but meaner. I have played their stuff at Lost generation. a few great records on In the Red records. Gorch Fock are a decent Austin band in the Butthole Surfers school of thought. I think they have an actual connection to the Surfers. This is gonna be a really good show. Of Coure Silk Stocking rules and I have heard good things about White drugs.

Yeah, i'm pretty stoked.... country teasers are supposed to be effing great.
...lets hope the mavs game doesn't complicate things tonight.... i'll probably be watching it at the billiard bar untill close to show time, then i'll move to the upstairs if i gotta.

country teasers reminded me so much of a polite fall
gorch fork sounded like baboon to me.Or even a bit like jesus lizard
first time i've seen silk stocking and she reminds me of diamanda galas/tom waits cross.
White Drugs are a mass of noise that brings to thought of early wire.
