Wooden Shjips Added to Strategies of Beauty 1.5
Over the weekend, the Strategies of Beauty folks announced that they have added the excellent Wooden Shjips to their already excellent SXSW day/night show, which is surely one of the most daring and interesting events going on in Austin this week. Local fans will also be happy to know that they have added Denton's Mom, a band that seems to be getting a lot of support from all corners of the DFWd music landscape recently. This is really going to be a great event for anyone attending SXSW that might be a little weary about having to sit through another Pepsi sponsored Birdmonster acoustic show at Urban Outfitters.... or whatever the kids are into these days.

We completely owned that shit. I actually had established Austin folks telling me that after all of these years Dallas was way ahead Austin as far innovation and cool underground shit goes.
Not a single media outlet has even mentioned us going down to represent our city.
Don't wait for some trendy music website(i.e. pitchfork) to tell you it's cool. It's cool and for once we have something inour backyard that is ahead of the most of the country.
How do you perform on a laptop? Well apparently they are still trying to figure it out down south, but all of our guys really dominated the live battle. Try to get over your pre conceived notions and check out something in your backyard. This is not shameless self promotion. I am truly in awe of the talent that is being bred in this town.
