Voot Cha Index video: "Talking House"

Voot Cha sent us an email about their new video on YouTube, and we've decided to share it with you because, well, the song kicks ass. And so does claymation.

Do these guys remind you of a young Mercury Rev or what? And I really like the way the song was recorded too. Good stuff:

i'd say more Tripping Daisy...but, that itself isnt much far from the Merc Rev.

true, although I think they are already almost better than Tripping Daisy, meaning that they have a good chance of becoming more like Mercury Rev.

well....as i was too young to see TD in their prime, i can say i have seen Voot Cha. all i have to say is, give them a few more years. they're young and their live set is nothing compared to their wonderful recordings. not that my band is any better on stage at this point...i mean, let's face it, it's a different ball game when people are watching. ealry Rev, to me, is alot noisier; feedback driven, obnoxious greatness. as i digress, there is some Mercury Rev within them. i'd say anything after Yerself Is Steam. whether those whipper snappers know who they are, i dont know.

being somewhat aquainted with Zach, in the Voot Cha, i heard they might not have their guitar player anymore. i wonder about that...

I've never seen them live, but if pressed, I would have guessed that what you say is true about their live gigs.

And I agree furthermore about the Mercury Rev thing... I was referring to later Mercury Rev, and should have made that clear. I'm not sure that ANYONE else will ever sound like early Mercury Rev.

How cool! I concur that song & video kicks ass. I just booked them for a Callithump showcase at Club Dada on 5/27. Whatever lineup they have, I'm looking forward to it!

Well, that rumor is still in the works, but I believe we will all know in a few weeks...if you guys really care. As far as I've heard, the Guitar player, and the Drummer quit, and are being replaced by two of the guys from my heart is a machine...and I think the girl is going over too. I think we are going to see some big things out of them...it's all of the good points of both bands...it's like a damn super group.

to clear up everything, our guitarist is leaving for college next year, so we really have no idea whats going to happen.

hmm, I'll stick with the super band rumour. I think it would be a much better outcome. where is the guitar player going to college at?

the problem with the superband thing is...

the lead man from My Heart is a Machine really wants to be the frontman in whatever band he is in, so it wouldn't really work at all.

OH

and it looks like Voot Cha and Washing Machine is playing at the Double Wide this friday.

Washing Machine is for sure, Voot Cha has to see if their 15 year old drummer's parents will let him go play a show because he has to be up at 5:00 the next morning to go on a drumline trip!
