It List: Tuesday 5/30/06

Hopefully you'll be in a good mood after what should be a Mavericks win (I really think they took control of the series on Sunday, so we'll see what they do with it), and you'll want to go out and have a few drinks while listening to some good music. Well, as usual for a Tuesday night, you can head to the Cavern (Upstairs) for the Lost Generation with Wanz. Here is some of what he is playing tonight:

The Get Hustle, Oneida, Einsturzende Neubaten and a lot more. I also have new cuts from Diplo, The Futureheads, Sonic Youth, Me, various members of Laptop Deathmatch, Hot Chip, Boards of Canada, Beirut, Gnarls Barkley, Yo La Tengo and Matmos.

We have now checked this night out a couple of times, and both have been entertaining and well attended, with a bit of dancing starting to go down in front of the DJ table. Props.

I can't even watch the rest of this. 6 minutes left in the 4th, and I'm in the fetal position sucking my thumb on the opposite side of the house.

yeah, we're going to pretend like this game never happened, because there really isn't much to say about it anyway.

yeah... so much for "controll".

that's one thing there really just ISN'T when you play the Suns... controll.... over anything.

but we're ok. tied two to two, going home. dirk and terry will be pissed and probably will play much much better. all we have to worry about is that the young'ns don't let it get to them too much.

we're just gonna hafta light em up at home on thursday. they are like the mavericks of yore; streaky as hell but they can't sustain it unless they just happen to get that lucky.

a loss like that to the spurs would have been an omen of sorts, but a loss like that to the suns means that they actually made some shots. they have no consistency what-so-ever (aside from everyone knowing that nash will make a circus shot of some sort in just about any big game).

i think we're lucky enough to have some players who will take this VERY personaly and seriously nut-up in these next few games. terry will find a way to get something going and clearly so will dirk.

all i have to say as advice to them (which they won't read) is GET TO THE FUCKING BASKET!!

how many times did we take 10 foot jumpers when all we had to do is fucking drive the ball inside, get fouled, and make the free throws???

i mean, they closed it off quite a bit better, but if you're dirk you either get the ball and imediately drive to the basket or pass it to someone who will.... NO ONE was making jump shots and EVERYONE was shooting them.

we need an official DFW rock band, you know, we can only talk about them so everyone that reads this blog can agree about something, they could play in band battles all around the country that would be broadcasted on television, and we can discuss each killer riff and rad drum solo in analitical detail. and everyone will be happy with their official DFW rock band and noone will ever question their greatness and love will rule supreme in dallas, denton, and fort worth.
