It List: Tuesday 2/6/07

Astro-Jazz Quartet (Pearl)

Karl Poetschke of Ghostcar has a new group featuring Dana Sudorough (Subtle Vibes, Freddie Jones Quartet) on electric vibes, Lyels West (Marcel Ivory Quartet, Quartet Out) on bass, and Gerard Bendix (Swirve) on drums. Poetschke will man the electric trumpet and do spaced-out versions of Jazz standards from 8-11 PM at this fairly new venue. Pearl is at the corner of Commerce and Pearl making this a rare opportunity to hang out in downtown proper. The venue promises "no TV" and "no video games" and I can respect the anti-sports bar sentiment.

this place looks really lame on the inside, it looks like a rec center or something.

sad, cos it looks kinda neat from outside of the window....except it's really in an unfortunate (commercially speaking) location.
