It List: Tuesday 3/7/6

Going out on a week night can be a bitch, especially if you have to get up in the morning. But if there is a reason to go out on any night Sun-Wed (Thursday really is the weekend, isn't it?), it is The Lost Generation w/ DJ Mwanza at the Cavern on Tuesday nights. There is no cover, and you'll be treated to one of the most eclectic mixes in the metroplex. Look at the list to the left: he really does play all of that stuff, and the guy obviously knows his shit. Give it a try. Even if you don't know anything about some of these genres, you'll hear something you like.

Wish I could make it out to this sometime ... I'm working on getting a helicopter, now if the Cavern can just install a helipad ...

hell, it would be nice if they installed some of those Airwick air fresheners. Why does the bottom bar smell like vomit?

... because after you do heroin on the couches upstairs, somehow i (err, i mean "you") mysteriously end up wandering downstairs only to puke in responce to whatever shitty local band Spune Prod. has brought to "dallas' hippest new venue" on that night.

...is it [Daryl]? Black Tie Dynasty?, Deathray Davies?

all i know is, either i (err, i mean... you guys) gotta quit the horsey or somebody's gotta quit boring me to tears w/ shows @ the Cavern......

the last great show there was probably...errr....uggghhh....uhmmmmm.... Devandra Barnhardt???? MAAAAAYBE? and i argue that b/c the crowd was an absolute pile of shit.

...oh, that and i don't think they clean the fish tanks too good.

I went to the Lost Generation this Tuesday night. I know it's not a dance club, but he was playing some really awesome stuff that was very danceable and noone was dancing. I think that's pretty lame. I guess it's not cool to dance.

I'd say there was about 20-30. Most of them were standing by the wall. I'll probably keep going though, I really liked the music. Maybe I'll shake it down next time. And I mean literally shaking, cuz I can't dance.

Strange Boys played there before Spune Prod. started booking their shows.

They played two shows right in a row in the summer(ish) and then played a 9:00 gig opening for Red Monroe and The Stock Market Crash. Way to give the first band to play on your new soundsystem some REAL support by sticking them in there @ 9:00pm.... there were like 15 people there including staff... and red monroe was all over myspace and e-mail lists telling everyone what time THEY were playing (as in, forget the other shit, come see us.... fuck that bullshit)

anyway, the cavern can be cool... but they gotta book better shows (to go along w/ the decent stock of DJs they have...you know, ever since dj Chickenhat went away)
