Yella House No More?

Hey, wouldn't it be sweet if another place that we really like closed its doors? I asked Jesus this before I went to sleep last night, and he responded by telling whoever owns the Yellow House in Denton to kick out the tenants, without even giving them any time to host a final show or party. We're not sure what happened exactly, but here is the post they made on Myspace:

"Well. if you dont already know. or maybe forgot. We got kicked out of our house today. We"re all real sorry for the inconvenience. sorry that we couldnt have a farewell show. but we thank all of you who supported the idea of free rock shows and a safe place to party. We tried the best we could to kick as much ass as possible.. Remember the fights, the talks on the porch, and the gallons and gallons of beer we drank. thanks to all the bands that played here.Tonight is the last porch night we'll ever have.p.s. Buy us beer.I love yall.Micah, Josh, Lou, Jacob, Ben, Stella.

Goodnight, Goodbye."

I wonder if this means that somebody else will get to take the place over. Lets hope so. And I wonder what these guys did to get kicked out. It probably involves a number of funny stories. Hopefully whoever starts living in this place next will be as generous with their place as these guys were, and will have the good sense to keep letting good bands play there on a regular basis.

yeah. ive been hanging out at that house since 96 at least. mulberry street fair anyone? in fact first time i saw lift to experience was on the front porch of that house. i think it was there.... i was probably tripping, so it might have been a different house.

hey speaking of tripping, since we are all anonymous on here, are the drugs still as good and plentiful in denton as they were once upon a time?

well, judging by the rediculousness of every yellahouse show i've ever been to... i'd say the drugs are THERE... but i dunno about plentiful.

...all's i know about denton is that a buddy knows some grass-growers there. but i sense you're asking about substances a bit stronger.

HEY....anyone wanna help out some of the bands that were supposed to be playing yellow house before they got evicted???

...strange boys had a show cancelled, i'm sure some others did to.

if any of you guys have places to play in denton in the yellow house's place, let people know.

...story is the new renters won't be remotely party friendly.

fort worth, the place to be?
that's the biggest load of crap i've ever heard. 2 diy spaces and a few frat bars? you're going to have to do a whole lot better than that, fort worth-less.

love,
the a-train

I like how a post about our house got turned into an argument about drugs. Believe it or not we were a relatively drug free enviroment. Well as far as the people that lived there when. I'm kinda glad to be outta there. but I wish we could have done one more show.
