It List: Monday 12/04/06

1. Parts and Labor/Bitchin' Kitchen/The Brewers (Rubber Gloves)

Parts and Labor are a really good band when the unimaginative and sometimes childish vocals don't get in the way. The backing tracks and instrumentals are really impressive but the vocals can be really grating for some reason. Always a shame when that's the case but sometimes that's exactly why some bands are popular. Bitchin' Kitchen is Ed from Fra Pandolf doing guitar calisthenics with what sounds like an array of effects. The Brewers are fairly straight ahead rockers from Denton (by way of Longview).

2. Bad Ass Jazz Night at The Amsterdam

Our usual recommendation for Mondays.

Sound Team's Bill Baird is hitting up Good Records tonight at around 6. When NOT serving up handmade burritos before and after his set, Baird will be wrestling an assortment of instruments and compositions with special accompaniments offered by a middle-aged, Dallas area trombonist and some other dude.
