Yeah whats up with people buying Damien Rice? I understand Silversun Pickups its the kind of stuff you can play for your Abercrombie and Fitch friends.

The first time I heard Silversun Pickups, I was a bit underwhelmed. But after hearing the full album a couple times, it grew on me. I really liked it much more after hearing their acoustic renditions form that AOL session they did.
I understand that isn't everyone's bag, but I dig it.
Even if you don't think it's a good record, they are at least taking airtime away from bands like Nickleback. I doubt I'll ever listen to regular radio again, but silversun is a step up from the hacks that have been holding radio hostage for the past 7 years or so.
If you are going to snipe at a rock record from this year, look towards the Hold Steady. I've never seen so many people fall in love with bad high school poetry and laughibly bad arena rock posing.
I honestly wasn't aware that Silversun is being played on the radio, but if thats the case, then yes, its a step up for sure.
I can't remember the last time I listened to a "rock" radio station.
