Good point. I will miss him, but I don't think he ever wanted to be an old fart anyway... smart people never do.

I seems like he lived a pretty long, fulfilling life. He would have made a cool Grampa.
I guess his life wasn't as fulfilled as I thought. Didn't know about his depression and suicide attempts. Sorry about the last posts. I still think he would have made a great Grandfather....someone to tell you great stories all the time. R.I.P. Kurt Vonnegut.

I was lucky enough to meet this man at an all-girls school he was teaching at several years ago. He gave really grumpy answers to silly freshman questions regarding "Slaughterhouse Five" but was nice enough to me and kept calling me "Tex". I was in awe. "Palm Sunday" is my favorite.
I like his cameo's in Back to School and Good Will Hunting. I don't care if a lot of people hate Good Will Hunting either. I like it. He makes a good (Boston) judge.
But much in his life was traumatic, and left him in pain.

I donmt see the big deal with vonnegut, they play crappy musics. the singer is a tool.
