New Undoing of David Wright Video
In case you missed it in the comments section today, here is the newly unveiled video for the Undoing of David Wright song "In Which Queen Exotica Returns Eight Thousand Years Later Only to Discover Herself in the Body of a Man," a name that vastly improves on the song's original title, "Waterfalls."

Thanks for posting.
NICE!
waterfalls!!!! the lost track! wsjr knowz the biz..........
I love that video. Fuck yea.
Boring?
Sorry to kill the ass kiss fest.
Title courtesy of the Sufjan Stevens playbook.
11:14 - How can I make it more exciting? I was thinking about maybe some blue screened dinosaur action figures (like pterodactyls on fishing lines) on top of all that, but then our production budget ran dry, the investors withdrew their funds, claiming the project had no future, and admittedly, even my band mates thought it might be too much.
I think this is the best Undoing track. That and the one that goes: "It's a good time....in a straight line..."
What's that song called?
Cool video! Looks like you guys had a blast making it!
Just go away 11:14 AM.
loves!!!
And, 11:14 AM, please don't give me this "Man, anytime someone gets on here and expresses a different opinion about a band most people adore they get spit on" shit. You got on here for the sole purpose of fucking with everyone. You got on here to call us all ass kissers.
Yeah, let's go out of our ways to insult people who are being creative and having fun.
12:10 - That song is "Tube City." It's based off a story Shane wrote on a napkin, about a tube city.
Tube City/Waterfalls 7". I can see it now. Make it so!
Goddammit, SR! I'm going to write a song called Waterfalls now just to spite you.
Exotika's the first track on our upcoming full length album, The Eighth Continent. It's a prelude to the whole story, so it's... uh, a good, thing... that it... makes... perfect... sense.
Daron Beck doubles me on vocals during the chorus in this recording. I was ripping him off anyway, so I thought fuck it, I'll just have him come in and make me sound better. Thanks Daron.
A lonely mother gazing out of her window
Staring at her son that she just cant touch
If at any time hes in a jam
Shell be by his side
But he doesnt realize he hurts her so much
But all the praying just aint hellpin
At all cause he cant seem to keep
His self out of trouble
So he goes out and he makes his money
The best way he knows how
Another body laying cold in the gutter
Listen to me
Chorus
Dont go chasing waterfalls
Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that
Youre used to
I know that youre gonna have it your way
Or nothing at all
But I think you re moving too fast
Little precious has a natural obsession
For temptation but he just cant see
She gives him loving that his body cant handle
But all he can say is baby is good to me
One day he goes and takes a glimpse
In the mirror
But he doesnt recognize his own face
His health is fading and he doesnt know why
3 letters took him to his final resting place
Yall dont hear me
Chorus
I seen a rainbow yesterday
But too many storms have come and gone
Leavin a trace of not one God given ray
You say because my life is ten shades of grey
I prey all ten fade away
Seldom praise him for the sunny days
And like his promise is true
Only my faith can undo
The many chances I blew
To bring my life to anew
Clear blue and unconditional skies
Have dried the tears from my eyes
No more lonely cries
My only bleedin hope
Is for the folk who cant cope
Wit such an endurin pain
That it keeps em in the puourin rain
Whos to blame
For tootin caine in your own vein
What a shame
You shoot and aim for someone elses brain
You claim the insane
And name this day and time
For fallin prey to crime
I say the system got you victim to your own mind
Dreams are hopeless aspirations
In hopes of comin true
Believe in yourself
The rest is up to me and you
Chorus
Poetry....sheer POETRYYYYYYY!!!! I found the part about "little precious" quite touching. It touched me. Down there.
yawn...
split cdr WATERFALLS/WARMBALLZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was so not funny! :P
So now its getting late, for thse who hesitate, got no one,
But they dont understand and no one hears the sound,
Its like a waterfall, its an illusion.
Chorus
Love is all, waterfall, love is what you are,
Pulls you in, takes you down, its a sad affair,
But you know as you hold back the power there without the friends
And lovers you could never go on living.
Across the waterfall thats falling evermore down on you,
Cascading through the days, and flowing on its way,
Thats how it has to be, just an illusion.
Who sings that one?
so let me get this right.........
the group is called waterfalls
the song is called waterfalls

I praise this new transition.

My favorite track is Telephone Line.
Livin' Thing is nice too. Reminds me a lot of The Beatles if they would have jammed out with Queen....which I think half of them eventually did.
The group is called The Undoing of David Wright
The song is called Exotica
The album(yet to be released) is called The Eighth Continent
Hey!
That's me!
I haven't heard that yet.
It sounds great! That's a very fun video, as well.
Lars, you can rip off my style anytime!
I hope you do better with it than I have.
9:23=Daron Beck-The Great Tyrant
Why watch the video? That shit is so early 2007. If you know anything, you'll know just to comment on it without watching it. That shit sucked. I should know, I didn't watch it.
Thank you 1:20 AM. Seriously. Hard work and great ideas is fucking RIGHT. I really want a copy of Exotica now...can't get the song out of my head.
Dudes (or chicks or inbetweeners)... thanks so much for the support. We do try to work hard.
Check it out, Mary Fleener (comic book artist from the 80's) has agreed to do the CD art... http://www.maryfleener.com/covers/comic_covers.html
We're starting a label this Summer, there will be a press release about it soon.
LARS:
HOLY SHIT ON THE MARY FLEENER
FUCKING GOOD NEWS, BROTHER!
Lars & co.
I really dig the video and a big "right on" concerning the label!
See y'all around town.
If no one will sign you... start your own label. A true sign of success!
oh yeah, mr. anon.
I'm sure you'd say the same thing about fugazi, or jandek, or the residents, or any other in a long list of artists that have found relative amounts of commercial success without ever being involved with ANY record label that wasn't their OWN.
eat your own words, then proceed to put your foot in your mouth, thank you.
Heh. Our label won't be releasing any Undoing stuff other than smaller projects and releases (such as the recent Ghost Stories EP, possibly some splits, DVDs, etc.) The label's strategy is more along the lines of uniting and cross-promoting various, primarily Texas based artists, of the more artsy fartsy nature. We'll be aggressively working to build a strong niche and a name, by which these acts can be associated with, and afforded greater opportunities for attention and credit internationally.
We'll be able to release a ton -- since most of the releases will be self-printed 10 copies at a time (with download versions always available), and most artwork/design, recording, production, will be done in house with affiliated individuals on a favor-for-favor basis. An in-house video crew (which has already started meeting) will be deployed to rigorously document everything, and produce as much conceptual content as possible. Live video and video experimentation events, as well as interactive web-video pieces are in works as well.
With the self-printing, the initial investment made in putting something out of very high quality is nothing more than a lot of elbow grease and 50 bucks or less to print an initial 15-20 copies of a CD. If sales go nuts, we just make more. I'm setting up an audio and video studio in Denton over the Summer, where we will be able to record and produce records.
Fuck. I'm spilling the beans. Might as well have just wrote the damn press release instead.
As for Undoing, we're talking to several labels about 'The Eighth Continent' over the Summer, and you'd be a fool to assume that we're not going to be offered some very agreeable release contracts.
So long as I've spilled it all, if any of you are artists interested in collaborating, who think you are compatible with the concept (musicians, engineers, filmmakers, artists, designers, etc) or are interested in pitching a project to us, please don't hesitate to email: lars@theundoingofdavidwright.com
Our first releases are the as yet unreleased anywhere Pointy Shoe Factory albums, in digital format.
LARSEN:
dude, I know of some places that do smaller than bulk cd-r runs for super cheap, plain silver-back
I think they may even be thermal printable. don't quote me on that.
also, if you need any services of mine at all, PLEASE feel free to ask!
aweseomemen!
Fuck yeah Larz! You're the man with the fuckin' plan!
OVEO: Cool, awesome! I haven't mapped out all the numbers and costs yet, but the current plan (and how we released Ghost Stories) was with burned inkjet-printable CDs, and full quality, hi-rez art printed directly onto them using my photo printer. After we get some expense records to analyze, we'll get more efficient. But even if we lose a little money on doing it this way... all we're talking about it is a few dollars, instead of a few hundred. The primary goals are to build a strong name and identity focused on a certain flavor I believe is in the Texan air these days, and create an elaborate collaboration infrastructure among dependable, driven local artists of all mediums and dimensions, based on favor-swapping, rather than everyone being broke all the time from paying other artists (or being too broke to even conceive of something like music video production or serious studio time.)
I design a website for Artist A, Artist A paints a CD cover for Artist B, Artist B shoots video for one of my shows, and everyone gets what they need.
YEH!
sounds like jazz to me!
haha. an eruption of awesome.
fugazi would get signed in a second.
the undoing signs itself.
self explanatory.
Um. Like I said, Undoing is NOT releasing anything on the new label, outside of some smaller projects and collaborative efforts with other artists. The label is an effort at community and collaboration, not at "Undoing promotion."
Undoing's first full-length was released and paid for by a label, and the upcoming one will be as well. We're not releasing any information until a final deal is made.
Don't listen to people like 1:24 PM, Larz. I, and many others I assure you, think what you're doing now and have already done is quite amazing. You have many wonderful goals and that's more than I can say for a lot of us.
What are your goals and aspirations, 1:24 PM? Please tell me so I can take a massive dump all over them.
That's what I thought. You're gutless.
