I'm curious too, but... I guess I'm afraid to listen because I've heard rumors that some of the members in TCTM are somehow indirectly related to Black Tie Dynasty :(

It's easily one of the best local releases of the year. Top notch songwriting and musicianship. Eddie from BTD is by far one of the best drummers in town as well.

The crash that took me album is good, but I'm sure the pedigree of the group will cause prejudice.

It is better than most stuff they play on modern rock radio, and it will most likely get radio play.

I know most indie folks don't give a shit about radio play, but then complain that the masses listen to horrible music. If you sit back and don't try to change what people hear, you are part of the problem IMHO.

Mom's a good band...but its not that amazing when the guy behind the counter paid to have the record put out.

I know at least 2 of the people in the crash that took me are fucking tools.

you are so right.
it's not amazing.
cj is a bastard.

i am truly a bastard.
i don't know who my daddy is.
but, i'm still looking for him.

by the way little hater (10:19),
i'm only at the store m-f 10-6.
those are our slowest times.
i may have told the first 50 peeps (that occurred in the first 3 weeks it was out) about the mom cd, but the rest i had nothing to do with. it sells itself on listening posts and by word of mouth.
you should be happy for them and the people that own/like it and go to their shows.
the vast majority of people that buy it have no idea that i'm involved with this band.
so...your statement holds no weight.
bring me your record sometime.
i'd like to hear it.

C.J. "word of mouth" and "listening posts" ? hmmm. That must be how everything that the Polyphonic Spree craps out stays at #1 there too! Wow! Now I get it! Thanks, C.J.!

Pffft... C.J. pay them no mind, it's a good record and Mom is a good band. I've told a zillion people to buy it myself. It is more important to focus on ice skating at the mall right now!

actually, the spree stuff sells better in england and other cities around the u.s., particularly new york and l.a., though we do sell lots here at the store.
people order from our site from those places.
the image of tim actually "crapping out" his songs is a pretty funny image though.
thanks for that one. he'll like it.
alright everyone, see you at the rink.

I am at the mall watching the ice skaters! They are beautiful! Oh look - is that CP? Yes it is!! He is skating naked!! Oh CHRIST!!! Oh NO!!

NOW I know who the douchebags are who comment on this site!!! Its the assholes from Good Records and CD World! It all makes so much sense to me now

hahaha. you're right, this is pretty ridiculous. gotta fill up the hours in the day somehow

3:17 PM

ah, CJ ...I didn't mean that to come off as an attack. I'm just saying its not a surprise that you would promote in your store a band you are passionate enough about to put personal money into. Nothing wrong with that. Good music is good music. Sorry if I offended.

I'm pretty amazed that you keep publishing Good Records sales charts. Their sales must be very poor if those are the records that are selling. Top 20? Just how many records are they selling anyway?

2:29 AM

"it sells itself on listening posts and by word of mouth"

why so defensive about free listening posts and constant word of mouth?

what releases would you expect to see if you thought the opposite?

"Good" job getting the word out ... I'm just pointing out the troof.
