Melodica Update

Just wanted to let everyone know that passes to the Melodica Festival will be going on sale this weekend at Good Records and all Melodica venues (Sloppyworld, Fallout, etc.) $25 gets you access to every show (including the Sunday all ages show), and if you want one, I'd suggest buying it soon because as of right now, only 300 passes are available. Each venue will also allow you to pay a seperate cover for individual shows (ranging from $5-10), but the passes honestly seem like a much better deal if you're planing on seeing more than one show. Here is a link to the line up for each venue and showcase.
And in other news, Sloppyworld will be hosting a show this evening featuring Raised by Tigers, Plutonium Jukebox, Silk Stocking and Joe Butcher.
Rest of the weekender is below.

$25 for 3 days, 6 venues and over 70 acts kind of sounds like a deal to me.

it's a great deal for those lucky 300 hipsters who beat me to good records.

It's a deal for someone that can spend $25 on a show. I'd just rather seen 5 cool 3-band bills (much less stressful) over the course of a month or two.

it ain't $25 for a show...it's $25 for 8 or 10 shows or whatever. Go to an individual show if you have issues. Those are $5 -$10 as they said.

you can drive down to expo park and pay that night to see the show you want.
save money and hang out at one venue or spend alittle more to attend all the shows.
it's your choice . plenty for everyone.
enjoy!!!

Is anyone checking out "The Pagan Holiday" radio show on KNON 89.3 Sundays Midnight to 4am?? It's pretty damn good, and I highly recommend it if you're up that late.

It's The Amsterdam Bar, not New Amsterdam Coffeehaus. The changed their name when they changed owners.

There hasn't been a New Amsterdam Coffeehaus for two years.

Also, it's back to Avenue Arts Venue. Eddie changed the name back when the SUP shit hit the fan. The cops freak out when you mention the word club, ie. Space this past Saturday (which isn't a club). Eddie said he'd like it changed so he can avoid confusion.

PS. does anyone know if Sloppyworld has enough permits for the event? The cops were hittin venues hard down here in Deep Ellum this past weekend, and I wouldn't be surprised if they head in that direction that weekend.

Thanks for the name mention. i'm back to using AVENUE ARTS VENUE as the official venue name . i love the name ARTCLUB but right now it sounds to much like a club club and the man frowns on those type of places. (sorry the city is lame)

I had Two code enforcement guys come by saturday night. luckily i have all my paper work so i didn't worry about it, but they are out checking.

For the melodica festival I asked the expo cafe to pull catering permits so we can have a bar set up in the back so you should be able to buy drinks here legally.

anyway , i want this to be a good time so just enjoy yourselves and let us the venue owners deal with the city and code enforement people , we are not out to scam you in anyway ,we are just trying to make this happen in the most legal way possible.

cheers, and thanks again to wanz and john for putting this together.
