i just checked and apparently no one got the memo that vietnam isn't on the tour. ticketmaster and all the venues still have them listed as being on the bill.

but they posted a message on myspace before the tour apologizing for cancelling and they have no tour dates listed on either their myspace or pollstar (other than the opening night of the tour which they apparently played).

weird.

best of luck john...hang in there

an open letter from John Freeman about being an asshole

I am a shithead. the day before I was going to check into rehab, I went on a binge, disappeared for hours, had several people looking for me. Some thought I was dead, others wished I was. I am not quite sure why this happened. Maybe I wanted one last "blast" before I went away. Maybe it is something else. One thing I do know is that I have been what most people consider a junkie for 13 years off and on. It is something I struggle with every fucking day. i am sorry that I made my friends (most of whom now probably aren't anymore) worry and go out looking for me. I am going into a residential rehab tomorrow morning and hopefully this time it will stick. I don't know what is wrong with me. I know you are all tired of this shit. But I am so much more tired of it than you will ever be. I want to stop and stop for good so bad that it makes me hurt inside. Please, please just don't cut me off. Because without my friends, I am less that nothing.

Great angle.

sorry, to clarify:

it's free
but donations will be accepted.

Of course, I will be stealing that money and purchasing a cottage in the Galapagos with it.

John will always have love from this city. He has brought us inspiration and laughter that anyone would be hard pressed to forget. In many ways he has kept big D creative and interesting.

trail of dead is playing rubber gloves???????? weren't they on Leno 4 or 5 years ago?

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yeah. And since it is 2007 there are also these things called airplanes and for that matter cars. People don't really commute by horse anymore. They can move from city to city more efficiently these days.
And I do understand what you are talking about. You think it's ridiculous that TOD would play at Rubbergloves after being on the Jay Leno show. I'm just glad they're not playing at the House of Blues.
