yeah I've been to a couple of shows at Nokia, and I must say: despite the fact that the venue completely sucks in every other respect, it usually sounds great. I don't know if it is because the sound system is so big, or because the bands that play there have their own sound people that actually know what they're doing, or if there are in house sound people that know what they're doing. Maybe someone that knows a bit more about concert sound can fill us in.

this is the previous anonymous...

the sound engineers actually had the latest and greatest mixing board, the Digidesign Venue. They were ired for the Massive Attack tour. They were not the venue's sound engineers. My seat was actually 10 rows back, center stage, but for some of the set, I actually walked back there and watched them run sound. crappy audience for the most part, but good band, show, and sound.

Great show. One of the best I have seen this year. The sound was OK. better than other shows I had been too. Sorry I stood up and danced during Angel. It's not Rvaer, but that music does make me want to move. Tne opening DJ was pretty much the worst part of the night. I wish I knew his name so I could avoid him at all cost. He was obviously pretty clueless about who he was opening for. DJ Nature should have gotten that slot. That would have made the evening perfect.

When they were Groovin they were really in the pocket. When they rocked out they out rocked most rock bands that I have seen recently. It was an expensive show, but you could actually see where the money was going on stage. Really nice stage design and great lights. 9 piece band with 2 drummers. Horace and Liz sound awesome. I hope they come back.

Angel and Inertia Creeps were defiante high lights, but I was really surprised how much I dug their new album stuff. I only kind of got into 100th window when it came out. Itr was a pretty drastic stylistic shift, but that stuff really knocked my sox of. Kind of like watching Kraftwerk rock out with Can with a lot more distortion. The 2 drummer action was really kick ass.
