Jackass

If this video of our spineless, incompetent piece of filth president trying to start a false controversy doesn't inspire you to go out and vote for ANYONE other than Republicans this year, then I don't know what will. For that asshole to pretend for one second that he cares about the troops or is "on their side" is positively infuriating. Troops in Iraq are dying on the battlefield as I write this, and Bush, Rove and Snow are talking about this. It looks like the Matt Drudge bullshit machine is trying one last time to generate some sort of outrage that will help the failures in the Republican Congress keep their jobs. Lets make sure it doesn't work, even if voting for liberals in Texas is typically an exercise in futility.

I was listening to one of the conservative am hosts yesterday (was it daryl encarlo?) and he was stating statistics that he insisted were proof that people with "good education" joined the army too:

67 % of the volunteer force has graduated from high school

11 % have their bachelers

6 % have grad degrees.

HOW ON EARTH COULD THIS ASSHOLE THINK THAT THESE ARE POSITIVE STATS???

a high school diploma isn't worth anything in this country and it certainly doesn't constitute a "good education"

fuuuuck.

To me, the most infuriating part about the whole thing is that all of the Republicans (and many of the democrats who are trying win elections) are clearly lying about their "outrage" over these comments. Think about it. Who in their right mind, no matter how dumb they think american troops are, would ever intend to say something like that in public during election season (or any other time for that matter.) There is simply no way that Kerry actually meant what he said, and everyone in Washington knows it.

Hillary Clinton and Harold Ford Jr. should be ashamed of themselves for asking kerry to apologize because they have to KNOW that he didn't mean any offense to anyone other than George W. Bush.

Do you think it’s a big deal if he meant what he said? I think it’s true, poor people with minimal education are easily enticed by the lure or money, a job and a chance to get out of their small towns. Lots of my family members were atleast...

true, anon 11:07.

the army's a good way to get college paid for (assuming you're not killed in a completely uncalled-for war) ... and it's no secret recruiters go for under-performing high schoolers without focus who might drop out anyway. less intelligent? probably not. less educated? probably so, at least at the lower levels.

Dude, all this is, is political science. If Republicans didn't feign outrage at this, they'd be ripped because they didn't take advantage of the situation.

actually, I think they're currently being "ripped" FOR taking advantage of the situation. The republicans take advantage of too many situations, so much so that the fact that they are FEIGNING outrage becomes everso clearer each time they do it.

I took it as an attack on Bush... you know because he is dumb as a rock and probably only graduamated because his daddy gave money to the Harvard. I can think of three things I would like Bush to apologize for.

Anyway I hate politics, back to music!

p.s. don't forget to vote!!

I have hatred in my heart for anyone positioning pseudo-concern about the troops when it seems to me there is so much to be GENUINELY concerned about there. Why is the Right so "concerned" about defending the troops' smarts, when troops STILL don't have enough armor or weapons??? If I were there, I'd really rather have those provisions then have the biggest tard alive assuring 'Merka that I'm durn smart, by his standards. That and a quarter will buy them a heapin’ helpin’ of JACK SQUAT. Lay off the semantics, spend that energy securing SUPPLIES! You don’t even HAVE to be smart to figure that one out. Gooooo!

In other news, The Lemurs seem to be "kind of a big deal right now." They're getting indie radio play in Austin, according to this link. What do we think of them?? Or any of the other bands on here?

i think that it's fairly simple.. kerry should not try humor.. he is not humorous.. and is the generic not funny white dooood.

which sadly to say probably why he didn't win the election.. i have smegma that has more personality then him.

When the general public are given 2 candidates that pretty much have the same political stance(kerry, and bush) same social background.. hell same education..they will choose the personality..

but i somewhat digress.. sadly this kerry mistake(trying humor).. even though small may make this election look like when the mavericks went to Miami.. we all wore sooo sure how it was going to turn out.. we just weren't sure if it was going to be a sweep or not.. but then.. well.. lets hope the season starts off well tommorow.

It was surely an attack on Bush, but what is ironic is that Bush can prove that the people in front of him at that rally are stupid. Because he takes Kerry's comments out of context, and makes those people buy his bullshit yet again.

The bottom line is that Republicans have attached themselves to the religious right. Many people who are Christians will not stray from the candidate whom they think is doing God's work. It's outrageous. Also, I'm high, so I can't really communicate my thoughts so well.
