It List: Monday 5/14/07
If I was going to go out to a show tonight, I'd probably go to Bad Azz Jazz at the Amsterdam because it's Monday and I just want to relax.
However, if I lived in Denton, I might consider going to the free J&Js show featuring Sparlin Jessels, Parata and My Son the Astronaut, but I would probably have to be really hungry for pizza.
If I was lame, I would try to find a way into the sold out Ben Gibbard/David Bazan/Jonathan Rice show at the Granada, but I'm cool as hell so you know that's not happening.
And If I had a first date, I would consider seeing John Legend at Majestic Theater if she was into that sort of business.

i worked, then came home and drank a beer and played Landstalker on Genesis.
I really can't believe I missed John Legend. He's freaking fantastic. I just couldn't afford the $70 tickets. I hope he plays some where cheaper next time.

the show was excellent last night,
missed most of jonathan rice,
david bazan did a tremendous show,
sang the leonard cohen version of hallelujah as his closer,
when i asked him about it later, he felt that it was a pretty special song to him and wanted to own it which he most certainly did, got shivers while he sang it
ben pulled out a lot of old and new songs,
the packed place was rapt and attentive, sang most of the back up parts here and there.
all and all, a momentous night i'll treasure.
