It List: Thursday 8/9/07

Douche/Uzi And Ari/Oveo (Secret Headquarters): Douche features members of Fra Pandolf and Notes From Underground, so something tells me that there will be very loud rock music involved, since both bands were known for their liberal approach to volume when they were active. That's just a guess, though. I'm anticipating the results of the melding of these two acts, and it's also a plus that the always enjoyable Oveo is playing.

Lost Generation With Wanz and Ineka (Fallout Lounge): Tonight's guests include Cntrl Alt Del and Alex Ander.

White Light Fever/The Beltholes /Deep Snapper/The Brewers (Rubber Gloves): White Light Fever was interviewed on this site, a local blog called The Sub-Rosa that I hadn't heard of before today. I mention this because I couldn't listen to them on account of not getting the damn Myspace player to work, so I just read about them instead. Deep Snapper released a solid record recently, entitled "A Drowning Man Can Pull You Under." This is the first full length for the band and another good recording effort by Matthew Barnhart.

Daniel Striped Tiger/Teenage Cool Kids/Trifle Tower (715 Panhandle): This show is heavy on the screamo, but Teenage Cool Kids will be playing to round things out with their unapologetic poppiness. Throw in a rumored Koji Kondo appearance and this sounds like a pretty good time. Note: Show starts at seven, so get there early.

80's Night With DJ G (Hailey's): Everyone loves 80's night, but I have to admit that 90's Night (last night) was pretty cool.

ps. we are totally considering o-gay-o as the title for our first concept album... I'm glad you tapped into that.

btw, thanks for getting the phonetic pronunciation of oveo correct.

isn't it great that you didn't have to modify it to fit your rhyme scheme?
