Mom/Douche/Dirty Water Disease/Matthew And The Arrogant Sea/Raised By Tigers (Rubber Gloves): This is the second night of Free Week at Rubber Gloves and I have to hand it to them for booking pretty varied and interesting lineups whenever they do this, though this Free Week is a little heavy on the Gutterth stuff. Mom continues to be a local favorite with their light airy instrumentals, in contrast to Dirty Water Disease, who have a darker and more imposing style. Douche is the highlight of this show, in spite of the fact that they have only four or five songs, they're four or five really good songs and we're glad to have them play our awards show this Saturday. Their cover of "Jordan, Minnesota" is spot-on even sans drum machine, and their understanding of dynamics accompanied by their overloaded tube attack makes for a startlingly focused show for such a young group. I haven't really heard much about Matthew And The Arrogant Sea...today.
Druggist/A Childlike Fear/Matthew And The Arrogant Sea/Eaton Lake Tonics (House Show: 2253 5th Ave. in Fort Worth 76110): This is a house show with the touring act Druggist (from San Antonio) and features other local songwriting-oriented bands. Starts at 7 pm.

i hate playing gutterth shows. i keep thinking. why is this stupid fucking moth/locust looking shit behind me. i will not play gutterth shows in the future. i'm not a advertiser or endorsement for your little group or whatever the hell it is that they do besides spam the annoying hell out of shows. it really fucks with my shit. no thank you. you know i don't undestand these small dfw-d promotion groups. what do they do that we as bands or musicians don't do anyway. it's like i'm doing the same shit i was doing before but now i have to look at your dumb logo while i do it. wtf.
Yo dudes! You forgot to put Raised by Tigers on teh bill.
interesting.
thanks
Who are you, Anonymous 4:40?
We're sorry to hear that you have not enjoyed playing the shows, and I want to make sure that we don't bother you by asking you to be a part of anything else in the future.
hey 4:40
they're just trying to help out and support something by working to book you shows.
it seems to me that you want to keep all the work (and credit) to yourself. problem is: that doesn't work with bands.
so continue to bitch, cause you're only burning bridges and isolating yourself.
but at least you dont have to look at that sweet moth logo.
... seriously, go fuck yourself little kid.
If you're not an advertiser or endorser of his "little group" then why did you play to promote it?

"what do they do that we as bands or musicians don't do anyway."
I'm not an expert on the matter or anything, but I'm pretty sure these guys spend time and money on promotion, putting together shows, AND recording/distributing/promoting bands that are directly involved with their "label/promo thing"
Maybe gutterth should explain on here what their prime directive is so people will be less confused.
I thought the butterfly/moth backdrop was rad. I actually spent like ten minutes trying to figure out how the did it. Giant screen? I even thought it would be awesome if it was made with a giant rubber stamp, it made me chuckle. Anyways. its better than a paint peeling wall covered in wires and shit.
The guys at Gutterth are fantastic.
If you're that sensitive about shit maybe you should stay in your room and cut yourself you whiny little emo brat.
The difference between "the band doing it" and a group of people doing it is.. You get more ideas, different resources, and for fucks sake it makes it a lot more fun than doing it alone. Whats wrong with a group of like-minded people working for one goal? It's great to work towards a goal that would otherwise be impossible alone. There is far to many talented people in the town for us to have to do it by ourselves. We are a community, we need each other and I am blessed to share projects with my awesome friends.

We are two friends from Carrollton, TX whose lives are consumed by music.
The purpose of guTTerTh is to put on the best shows and put out the best records by our favorite bands for three reasons:
1. These are the shows we want to see, but are not necessarily happening otherwise.
2. We enjoy helping our friends bands in any way we can, and helping to gain them as much exposure as possible.
3. Help promote and expose the people in North Texas (and beyond) to great music and art.

Thanks Heather!
Brent projected a transparency of the moth onto a sheet and hand painted it from that.
Maybe if the moth had different outfits...
i think the problem is that the moths can't really be scene.
Oh yeah and WTF is up with 4:40?
they missed 4:20...
Gutterth are some extremely passionate, honest and hard working dudes. If you've played one of their shows, they've worked hard for you too.
I agree with Lars!
The Gutterth guys are doing it for the RIGHT reasons without an ounce of elitism. I enjoyed doing the War Wiards show with them this past weekend. I hope I get to do more shows with those guys in the future. They are good people.
..........I'd give M.a.t.a.s 6 million to not play those shows tonight. hell I'll give 'em 12 mill to not play ever again!
They should lose the capitalizing crap. It is annoying.
Not trying to be mean or anything, just saying.

Assuming Jung is right, the same logic would dictate that the meeting of five personalities would create an equal reaction, five-fold in its power to change.
Such a meeting has taken place. In the nooks and crannies of their disparate lives, five boys from Texas found each other. Accident, inevitability, chance, fate no one will ever be able to explain whatever it is that draws the colors of a rainbow together into one stream of pure white light.

I think they were anti caps in guTTerTh
why aren't you groovin on my irony boat to port humor H Lar?
WHY CAN'T YOU GET FUNKY IN THE BAD JOKES DISCO
-8:14
Oh wont {your boat} take me to, FUNKY TOWN!?
I've been to and played gutterth shows and they don't bother me. They don't really add anything either. No offense or anything.
They are good at putting up TV's?
guTTerTh does more than hang signs and TVs. They give themselves over completely to this. They went into debt from their own pockets to put on a huge show w/ the paper chase and fair to midland a few years ago. FTM isnt good but that's not the point. They wanted to see a certain show and they wanted to make sure the right people got paid, etc. From their own pockets. Huge. Awesome.
They did it again to put out New Science Projects and Sean Kirkpatrick cds. Awesome. Whether you like these bands or not they put them out in nice cases with nice printing for practically no personal gain. I know personally that they lost money on the NSP cd, but they believe in it.
And these annoying bulletins? They are not only for guTTerTh shows. If you actually looked at anything instead of just repeating what your blawg anons are telling you, you would see they take the time to check out all of their friend's show listings and post about them. They update their calendar at www.gutterth.com with shows that they didn't have anything to do with, just to do a little something extra to help.
Not to mention that they go to shows almost every single night. Along with working and commuting, that's pretty badass. I can think of fewer people who do more to try to bring life into a scene that has become so weighed down with elitists and apathy that no one even cares to listen anymore. They are the Hardest Working Men in music around here.
I wish you were not anonymous, 4:40. You really should just be honest. I go to a lot of gutterth shows and I want to know who decided to be a dick to them.
NSP
what the hell is gutterth?
