again, division of power, at the exploding house.
They should really piss off by now.
Really, can they not get shows anywhere else?

Trail of Dead is so easy to forget about, until you listen to the records they were making five years ago. What the hell happened...?

both exploding house and the chat room look pretty fucking nice saturday. too bad the chat room is, well, the chat room, though. no kiddos allowed.

they still gonna be selling acid at the exploding house?

What are you talking about? Trail of dead is freaking awesome all the time.

Regardless of Farah's poetic abilities she still makes terrible music even with Johnny Jewels help. She is ok as a person but she seems a little crazy...like the rainman.

farah's "poetry" is nothing more than first-draft journal entry tripe slurred monotonously over boring justify-my-love loops.
the people who like her music remind of people who think discomfort is art, or that bad is good/funny and appreciating it makes them look smarter/snobbier.

Trail Of Dead is never good, not even for one second. I've never seen so much disproportionate destruction (of instruments) for such timid sounding music.

And 10:06, you don't think your attempt to look into the souls of others to breakdown why they like what they do makes you seem like you're trying to look smart or snobby?

1919 show should be good, then there ftworth vs denton on sat. im calling denton on this one.

trail of the dead is horrible. i've never understood why they got so popular.

hey, 10:06, don't let DL get you down. you nailed that shit.

DL and farah get along so well because they have one major thing in common: in the process of taking themselves so seriously, they have completely forgotten to develop a personality.

dl: not at all, that's why i said it reminds me of people like that, not claiming that everyone who likes a certain "thing" is like that. and while i took a deliberately dismissive tone i do not adhere to the usual superiority-complex language used often on this blog.
i'm merely stating that someone who professes appreciation for something i find unflatteringly juvenile and exploitative of someone's obvious psychological issues in way that dismisses others for not appreciating that thing to be of a certain ilk that is playing the superiority card for the sake of appearing to have better taste.
if someone truly appreciates something, that's great; even if it's not my thing i can understand that people like things i don't. but the tone i pick up from some articles and comments is that if you can't see why this certain thing is genius it's because you are stupid and your opinion is somehow less valid, which makes the author's point moot via not being open to counter-point or disagreement.
i'm sorry if i came off as "looking into the soul of others" or "breaking down what they do" but you have to admit that invective language like that is pointless and infuses your emotion into what could be a simple debate on merits and flaws of someone's music AND is precisely why some people with valid arguments don't bother discussing topics on here, hence the usual flippant and blindly negative comments.

TOD still packs one hell of a punch live. i recently caught them in austin playing as a 3 piece, returning to their original lineup and it was pretty intense. as their career has evolved conrad has gradually stuck his head so far up his own ass all he wants to to is band on a piano and write 10 minute peter gabriel ripoffs. the new album is virtually unlistenable. someone needs to take the keys away from him and pare things back down to a 4 piece.
