First, congrats to Dirk on winning MVP. He might have had a shitty playoffs this year, but the award was well deserved. I saw an interesting statistic today: this season, Dirk Nowitzki was the only player in the NBA to make at least 50% of his field goals, 40% of his 3-pointers and 90% of his free throws. When you consider that stat along with the fact that he was the best overall player on the best team (in the regular season anyway), I think it's hard to deny Dirk the MVP this year. Congrats to a good guy. I don't know if we can win a championship with this current line-up, but Dirk is here to stay and that is a good thing.
Oh, and I won't be shedding a tear over the death of this piece of filth. It's too bad he left three kids who are just as bad (if not worse) than him.

let dead men lie, there are more/better/alive/relevant things to take exception to.
any religious leader who gets involved in politics is a hypocrite anyway...
damn, going after dead guys? i guess thats the natural progression after the marnie stern bit.
defending Jerry Falwell? I guess thats the natural progression after the Marnie Stern bit.
i don't think its a mere coincedence that the day dirk is namded MVP, god's number one soldier kicks the can
yeah spit on his grave for real. Those people are the scum of the earth, praying on people's souls & pocketbooks.
Who says pocketbooks?
let's ask larry flynt....
"...any religious leader who gets involved in politics is a hypocrite anyway..."
Regardless of what you think about Falwell, this doesn't make sense. Completely flawed from a logic standpoint.
let's ask larry flynt...
true: being a religious leader involved in politics doesn't make you a hypocrite PER SE, but I am having a hard time thinking of a contemporary religious leader who dabbles in politics and is NOT an asshole. Falwell was one of the worst.
Also, many denominations Christianity (not to mention Catholicism) forbid church figures from getting involved in politics. Just a thought.
I would hardly call Falwell God's number one soldier. He is evil. God is not. I know there are a lot of Atheists out there, but I assure you people like Falwell and the rest of the religious right sect do not represent the rest of us. It was recently revealed that Karl Rove is an Atheist. How about them apples.
I'm no atheist, but it's just logical, if your a church leader in a Christian denomination you are putting your hope/faith in a Theocracy, not a democracy so why get involved in politics when you know thats not where your hope/faith lies in? Ba Ding!
let's ask larry flynt..
nah, lets ask wanz.
i don't think rove is an atheist, he just refuses to put spotlight his faith on the political stage, he's never actually stated he is an atheist. the new hitchens book 'god is not great' is really eye-opening.
