As someone from Good Records explained once on this site, the local top 5 and general top 20 are both based on sales. However, it doesn't take that many sales to get on the list. When a band puts out a new album, the initial surge of sales for the new release increases the probability of landing in the top 20 and/or top 5 local.

I'm fairly certain that the list is based on sales. How many records do you think Good sells a week? Probably a decent amount. But in order to make the top 20, I imagine one would only have to sell around 10 copies.

they print sales reports on sundays. these lists are the real thing.

Do you think polyphonic spree really is in the top 5 of sales every week???

we ship spree cds all over the world. lots of online sales for them. the rest of the list is real as well. if any of you would like to come by and see one just let me know. i'll be glad to show it to you. don't be mad at the store because your peers buy records in quantity that you don't find cool. only you can change the list.

come to the bo.ring. mom show wednesday. hope to see your little hatin' asses there. -cj
