Drag City, Q-Cinema, and the Metrognome Collective have put together a show featuring:
Baby Dee, John Contreras of Calexico, Alex Neilson of Palace Brothers (and Jandek,) Paul Oldham (Will's brother,) and the Theater Fire.
The performance will be held at Arts 5th Ave in Fort Worth this Friday.
It's an early show. Starts at 8pm

Get with it, you're better than that. The only reason they present some Liars/No Age show is because they've got the sizable venue and there's $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ involved. But from the way those photoshop doctors work their shitty flyers, you'd think you were seeing Alkaline Trio at House of Snooze. BOOOORING. That fucking poster looked like it was from Highlights For Children at the doctor's office They don't know the first thing about presenting that type of show.. Spune has a statewide shitty reputation and all the good bands in Austin are talking about boycotting the Mohawk because of things like dickhead soundmen turning the power off midset and a terrible booking policy. Anyways, I know you're trying to do good for Dallas but your name looks out of place on that shit.

so that rant was completely unnecissary about spune, but then I read the end about the Mohawk, and thats actually true. My band had a show there and the sound guy never showed up, they weren't even charging admission like they were supposed to, and on top of that the bartenders were total assholes when we were getting "taking advantage of them" by getting "too many free drinks." Maybe we were exceptionally boozy, and haters gotta hate but sometimes it be like DAMN!
spune sucks AND mohawk sucks. so you are friends with the people at spune so they can't possibly suck for you.

El Paso Hot Button is touring south w. Chinese stars (so its just coincidence). And he is really good live and one of the most innovative acts in dallas/okc/austin right now.

I have tried to get on a Spune show, simply because I liked the band they booked them with. I didn't even get a fucking reply. I figure they at least could give me the courtesy of just sayind "no thanks" or even "your music is terrible, dont bother emailing us again." SORRY I DONT SOUND LIKE __________________ YOU FUCKING HIPSTER DICKS.
I mean, it sucks how saturated the DFW area is with promotion companies, but these venues have a business to run. They are flooded with emails of bands trying to get shows. Its hard to know who's going to bring out a crowd. I mean the sound guys and the bar tenders have to get paid too. They have rent to pay just like you do. And I understand it from a business perspective, even if I don't like it. Trust me, I don't like it. I guess I'll rent a house to have shows at in Arlington or something. Couldn't hurt to have more houses to have shows at!
